1992 Z28 Convertible5.7 ????
mostly rumor.. but there are some. not recognized by gm though so not truly official unless you happen to have the dealer ordered sticker proving it was infact a special option for that dealer which has happened.
There weren't any 350's in vert. IROC's??? My dad had a friend who died in an accident and he has pics of a 350 IROC.. maybe my dad is wrong.. But i know for a FACT you can get a 350 w/ a manual SOMEHOW (factory i mean) A good friend of mine bought a 350 5spd from an OLD LADY. It's an '87, t-tops, has the console on the ceiling, clock in the console, rear disk brakes, performance axle (i think), brake light on the back of the hatch etc. Black on black w/ weird gray seats. Wait.. i think he said it originally had grey leather seats now that i think about it..

It was 305 (for 5 speeds) or get an auto.
Not trying to sound like a jerk, just know my 3rd Gens and their engine history........as do many others who will repeat what I have said.
No 350 verts, no 350 manuals from the factory for 3rd Gens....and I am confused on what a picture of a car will prove with regard to if the TPI motor in question is a 305 or a 350........they are visually the same as far as I know.......and 5.7 stickers on the exterior don't cut it cuz you can buy those from any number of places. 87 was the first year of 5 speed TPIs and since I had one ordered new from the factory, I can speak with some knowledge here, if there had been a 350/manual option, I woulda jumped on it.

And as for the 350-verts, that's a shame. I dont think I am going to tell my dad though because he was GOOD friends with this guy, and I don't want to break his heart
Ya I know exactly what you are saying.. but my buddy looked up the VIN once and said that everything was correct. I honestly don't know how it's a 5spd 350 either.. but I am telling you the car has somehting like 37k original miles.. and an OLD LADY was the original owner.. so I dunno what the heck is going on. I've been trying to figure it out for years

And yeah, no sense in messing with your pops....let him think/believe whatever makes him happy. I do it with mine.
Are Any Out There Asc Installed The Motors ???
According to my "Camaro White Book" the only L98 convertibles that exist were people who ordered the L98 and then paid ASC to make it convertible on their own. ASC did not refuse to do this for customers with the cash. So some do exist. GM had nothing to do with it.
ASC only made convertibles
SLP did the engines
EDIT: so if you checked the vin on one of these cars they would show up as T-top or hardtop

Not arguing, just offering a point of view.......I remember back in the 80's it became all the rage to make hardtop F-bods (3rd Gens) into Targa roofs, like Vettes......Simon & Simon (tv show) made it popular.......but GM never offered a targa roof from the factory or a as dealer installed option.
