??? about a baby dry shot

I saw an ad for a simple dry nitrous system. If I spray a 35 shot into my 4 cyl DD, will the engine be OK? The MAF should detect the increased airflow and inturn increase fuel to the injectors... right?

Just contemplating this for now, don't wanna spend alot and don't wanna damage the little guy.

thanks

Its risky business to spray a dry shot before the MAF and hope that the PCM will make the necessary adjustments to add extra fuel. Granted it is such a small shot of nitrous, but still. Personally, I don't even think it is worth the money, time to install, and the potential risk to spray such a small shot.

It seems that a lot of new nitrous companies are taking what works on an LS1and some other newer cars and marketing them for all cars as a working dry kit. There is a reason that dry kits haven't always been through the MAF and that is because it didn't work very well if at all on older fuel injected cars. The best thing to do if you want to run a dry kit is see if the car has a return style fuel system and if it does just get an NOS dry kit that increases the fuel pressure to get the extra fuel. I would be very hesitant to just spray nitrous in front of the MAF unless it is proven to work. Even if their site says it will work on your car be careful.

Words understood. Thanks
Like you stated, I used to have a dry NOS kit on my 97 Z28 and it seemed to work ok. But this system is so simple that it doesn't have that nice feature like the NOS kit. The price diff is quite high between the 2 so I don't think I can justify the better system.

I remember viewing a video of a chevy truck, 4.3 vortec on the dyno and they did a pull with no nitrous and got 195 RWHP, then they did another pull while some guy stood next to the air intake while spraying nitrous manually into the engine. The dyno showed a 30-40 hp bump or so. And that is the exact senario that would happen with my DD if I went that route.

I aqgree as well. I talk to customers all the time taht have called some of these shops that recommended spraying before the maff on a 5.0 mustand and the LT1. I guess these shops do not understand that the pcm in these cars are not as advanced as the New model GM computers.
