Yes, I agree. These things are awesome. What kind of price are you paying for power coating? That would be interesting. I have had mine for a couple weeks now.

Chad, I dont have any idea on individual price, I am taking in a big pile of stuff this year. Motor brackets, valve covers...etc. If you want to send it in, let me know and I will take it with all the stuff I have. Last year I paid 75 bucks for all four calipers, and the front knuckles, if that gives you a idea.

Brad, you would have to give the demensions to Skip, but I'm sure he can come up with something for your Funky little laptop.

Chris, your mind scares me sometimes.....me thinks you grew up with a tv taped to your face But damn, its always funny.

Thanks for the promos!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys, to update all interested, Chad,Kevin, and Q... I'm starting a new job Monday so It will be a couple of weeks before I can make any more items. I found a new supplier for aluminum in Kazoo and am getting quotes. For you guys who bought laptop stands I have a line on some neat little ***** to use to tighten the stand instead of the 1/4x20 screws. I'll send them to you as soon as I get them. Quentin I forgot to drill and tap yours I'll e-mail instructions for ya. Anyone who needs a stand can e-mail me dimensions and I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks again and have a good one

PS ...Quentin,Send me that helmet of yours and I'll put a flame paint job on it for ya...

No, I don't work there. But they seem to be a good place to get just about any sort of aluminum imaginable, and at decent prices too. They'll even cut it up for you.
What kind of welder do you have?

I have a Lincoln buzz box and a Lincoln 110volt wire welder. I haven't welded aluminum with it yet. That's kind of hard to weld. I do have access to a friend that does aluminum welding though
Why do you ask?

I've got a 170A/220V MIG welder, and I was wondering about welding aluminum with it. Some people say you need a spool gun, and some say you can get by without one if you employ a few tricks. Just wondered if you had any tips.

I can't help you there bud.. I've TIG welded some but it didn't look very good/ The best thing to do is go to a welding supply place and tell them what you have and what you need.

Contact General Dynamics Land Systems Division in Sterling Heights. They can show you how to weld aluminum although they work with slightly thicker armor plates than you might want to work with.

Ahhhh the fun days of watching the gang in the prototype shop trying to make the transition from steel and depleted uranium to aluminum.

Yeah, depleted uranium rocks! How do you make aluminum that strong?
