HardcoreRM125 09-24-2006, 01:28 PM I am buying a D1SC set up, pulleying it down to about 7PSI, and running it on a otherwise Bolt On LT1 car. I will be using 30# SVO's ( Since I have them already, mind as well use them) and the FMU. The Walbro 307 comes with the D1SC I'm getting though.
Later on I plan to build a stroker that is going to be FI, so I dont want to buy a different pump now, and then have to get a different one when I change my set up again later. This 307 is kind of a get me by type set up.
Would it provide enough fuel for this, bolt ons, and 7PSI.
flusz28 09-24-2006, 04:04 PM before i tore my motor down for a forged 355, i was running bout 7-8psi with SVO 42lb injectors and 255 walbro and i had no fuel issues.. i'm not sure what a 307 is? i'm guessing maybe a smaller pump...
HardcoreRM125 09-24-2006, 06:39 PM They make two 255LPH pumps ... The 307 is a 255LPH Walbro, but is only rated for a max pressure of 60 psi. So later on, I would definatly need to upgrade. The regular, high pressure 255LPH Walbro is the 360 ...
Just curious, when you did that, using those 42lbs SVO's, did you still need to use the fuel management unit? I have SVO 30's, New in box, that I was going to use, but I would definatly need to use the FMU with them still.
flusz28 09-24-2006, 06:57 PM i bought my blower without the FMU and don't use one. because they are a pain in the butt i have read years ago and for tuning you can make more power without them. hmmm wonder which walbro i have then??
on a dyno tune with acouple boltons, and blower my car made 400rwhp-390rwtq with a brand new walbro pump that was going bad!!! and fouled out plugs:rolleyes: , car kept cutting out at 5500rpm.
i can't remember for the life of me where i bought my pump at,some company offline, guy gave me a deal on a new pump since the new one that went bad had like 2miles on it... so i have no clue which i have?
i have seen guys use 36lb with a good tune for 400hp maybe alittle more. but i like to go bigger then you need so you can always tune around them and have no problems bumping up power later on. i would sell your 30lbs and get some SVO green top 42lb injectors like i have.
flusz28 09-24-2006, 07:00 PM PS i'm jealous of your mileage  . i bought my car used in 97 with 11,000miles on it and only has 30,000 now so not bad. just wish i bought it brand new in 94 it would have 1,000 miles on it- haha
HardcoreRM125 09-24-2006, 07:25 PM Haha yea ... It is neat havbing such a low mile car. It was totaled in 1996 and sat in this guy my Dad knew's garage until I bought it, Had like almost 10K on it when I got it a couple years ago and reconstructed it. What a bitch trying to get the R-Title in the mail ... Their SOOOOO strict with it, its nuts.
Where did you get your 42's ? How much if you dont mind me asking? Maybe I will eliminate the FMU that way ... What fuel pressure are you running? Stock FPR or adjustable?
bowtiepwr 09-24-2006, 08:43 PM ... The regular, high pressure 255LPH Walbro is the 360 ...
...
>I think you mean their GSS340m.
I have both of their 255LPH the GSS307m and the GSS340m both brand new waiting for another project I was going to use the 307 for everyday driving and use a Hobbs switch when the demand was there.

I think I am going to buy the whole set up off of the guy, then sell the 307 and wait until I have some more $$$ to do everything once and do it right.

HardcoreRM125 09-27-2006, 11:16 PM Thanks guys ...
Blown383 - I am interested, but it may be a little while before I would buy it. I want to wait until I get, and check out everything I bought, save a little more money, and then we'll go from there. If your not in a huge hurry to get rid of it though, let me know.
Hahah yea I looked at the racetronixs kits ... Its hard to justify the extra price for their double pump set up when some guys did it just fine with a 255 and boost-a-pump. I mean, RSKrause made OVER 600, almost 700RWHP on that same set up. Bosch 255, and a KB B-a-P ...
But I dont want to have that be a weak spot on my set up ... So I have considered their daul pump set up. I'd like to tlak to some mroe been-there done that guys too see what they ran/how it held up.
blown383 09-28-2006, 04:27 AM Its still for sale so let me know when you're ready and if I still have it you have dibs!

There are a few hundred DP's out there supporting 700-900+RWHP with factory lines.
