has anyone tried reducing the amount of drop that springs give by using spacers?
i know that BMR makes spacers that go under the front shock mount on the lower A arm, which raise the spring 1/2".
here is the picture (the aluminum unit...not the red (http://www.bmrfabrication.com/HALimages/springcups.jpg))
and the description from the site:
BMR shock spacers install between the shock and the shock mount on the A-arm. These can be used to raise the front of the car without adjusting the spring. Each spacer will raise the car 1/2" and can safely be double stacked to gain 1". Made from 6061 T6 aluminum.
i would think you could do a similar thing on the rear spring perches. either doubling up on the upper spring issolator, or machining a "cup" to put under the bottom of the spring.
this way you could run a 1" drop spring for stiffness, but only drop it 1/2" ...and so forth.
i want to drop my car, but am worried about too much drop, and having clearance issues with my 3" duals.
just thinking...
