SFC's or LCA's

head/cammed 97 6 speed z w/ slicks/spec stage 3

i only have the cash to get one or the other before the track closes for the year, which would be my better bet to cut down my 60 ft? i honestly know not too much about suspension. its got an eibach pro kit. thanks

I know this doesn't answer your question, but with the power your making and the fact that your going to the track, using slicks, and have an m6, I'd be saving up for a 12 bolt( if you don't already have one). Given those choices, I'd go with the LCAs. SFC won't do anything for your 60ft. Good luck!

Relocation brackets (RLBs) for your LCAs might be the best "bang-for-the-buck" mod to improve short times. They're cheaper than SFCs and LCAs, and are essential for hooking up a lowered car like yours.

And, like maro z28 suggested, track + slicks + M6 + HP usually = boom for the stock 10-bolt. Make sure you preload the drivetrain as much as possible at the starting line, to minimize the shock it gets when you lauch. The 10-bolt is a crap-shoot - many have been broken with street tires and stock engines, others have run 10s with slicks.

what do you mean pre-load the drive train? also, relocation brackets + new LCA's will be my best bet it sounds like. I've made about 3 hard launches on it so far so good, only planning on running 2 more times my next trip. its got 4:11's in it.

By preloading the drivetrain I mean "taking up the slack". In my car, I'll hold on the parking brake a bit at the starting line, and ease out on the clutch a bit to get the rear gears loaded together before launching. That minimizes the shock that the gears would get if they suddenly slammed together. My 3.42 ratio 10-bolt is still alive, but is rarely at the track, and exclusively on street tires. 4.10s in the 10-bolt have very thin teeth on the gears and are more fragile than 3.42's, etc. You may never have problems, though.

SFC' won't help your 60's but will help you from twisting your subframe under launches. I would go with those

relocation brackets
lower control arms
poly torque arm mount

those would be my choice mods in your situation

All good sugestions. THe LCA's make a big differance in traction. The LCA relo's are a must for a lowered vehicle, especially if you need traction... The TQQ arm is good, but Xspensive. But as far as beating on the stocker w/ slicks watch it. I changed out my stock TQ arm w/ 20k miles on the car (street tires), and a handfull of hard launches, and the bolt holes were already ovaled out!... :eek:
