Motown Muscle Race #3 for 2006 is at Norwalk - Friday, September 8th
Race #3 will be at Norwalk Raceway (http://www.norwalkraceway.com/) on Friday, September 8th. This will be our biggest track day of the year. You are going to want to have the day off and go racing.

Two lanes of full track prep at Norwalk with more than 6 hours of track time. It doesn't get any better than that. This is the stuff dreams are made of boys and girls. There should be some interesting cars out there that people have been waiting to see all summer.
The gates will open at 9:00 AM. Tech will start up shortly after that followed by TnT racing. Concessions will be open from 10am-2pm so you can get your 1lbs of Ice Cream al la Norwalk. We'll run our regular three class race program at 1:00PM and continue to mix in TnT until the end of our race day at 4:00PM.
Everyone is welcome to come race. Only Active Club Members will be awarded Point Series Points to have a shot at getting your name on the MM Chris Jackson Memorial Cup for the 2006 race season.
Schedule:
9:00AM - Gates open and tech starts
9:30AM - Lanes open for TNT
1:00PM - Classes start running
4:00PM - Awards and wrap up
Cost Info:
We are going to keep the same cost split for racing this year with members racing for a $10 discount at each event. So the $40 savings pays for your $25 annual membership fee if you attend all four race events during your membership year.
Members that are current on their dues will race for $40.
Guests can race for $50 or they can pay the $25 membership fee and race for $40 for the day and receive the $10 discount on future races.
Spectators get in free as always. So bring the family or come watch your friends race, and have a good time.
Norwalk's regularly scheduled TNT will start at 5:30PM and run to 11:00PM. They typically let us just walk to the gate to pay for a new tech card if you would like to continue racing after our event.
All classes require the standard safety equipment for your speed/ET to clear tech. If the track tells you to slow down... then that's what we have to do.
Class Summary:
Class 1 - Run what you brung quick 16. Fastest 16 cars get a shot at heads up racing. It's heads up, pro tree racing.
Class 2 - 11.99 and faster ET bracket racing. This one should have it all with turbo(s), juice and some SC cars coming out to play. Street tires, DRs and Slicks keep the racing fun and fast.
Class 3 - 12.00 and slower ET bracket racing. The battles are heating up in this competitive class.
Prize Money:
Each class will payout: 1st-$100, 2nd-$50, 3rd-$20 and 4th-$20.
Point Series Scoring:
1st place finish-5pts
2nd place finish-3pts
3rd place finish-1pt
4th place finish-1pt

We'll be racing this Friday at Norwalk for those that are looking for a sticky track, Norwalk is the "hook". It'll be a good tune-up for those that are looking to put a hurting on their friends at M-11.

Fiddy bucks? I take it Norwalk is more expensive to rent than Milan. It should be worth it if you have a high power car and looking for LOW 60 foot times. Also, Norwalk just switched over to NHRA, so IHRA rules dont apply anymore. I believe a 6 point is needed at 11.99 or quicker.

Yep, it's more expensive and we are renting it for longer than our usual rental at Milan.
We also usually have prep at Milan to the 330'. A special contributor will be covering both lanes for the full 1320' at this party.

Sounds good Al.
A bunch of us will be cruising down after work on Thursday night and staying at the Amerihost Hotel in Norwalk. Most should be there between 8-10pm for those that are interested in hanging out on Thursday night.

See ya at the track Friday morning.
Re: Motown Muscle Race #3 for 2006 is at Norwalk - Friday, September 8th
Nice sunny day at the track. A bit warmer than we wanted to see, but with a full prepped track we probably had 10 out of th 45 cars cut PBs. We had high 7s slicks and low 8s DRs and everything else along the way.
So it was a good day to be away from the office.
