VATS/theft deterrant module disconnect info

Well, just got done making my car start again after the wires in the ignition module broke (I think it happened because I was constantly turning on and off my car to test my new stereo connections, but who knows?). Anyways, I've noticed that most of the people on the board say to connect the purple wire to the yellow wire after cutting them from the theft deterrant module. While I am not arguing that this doesn't work (it does, quite well), I noticed something else when I made this connection. The car will start while the clutch is not depressed. While this isn't the biggest of deals most of the time, an accident could happen that would make the car jump forward by itself (for example, a few weeks ago oil got into my starter and fried it, starting it and a few other things on fire. If I had done the theft relay removal before that happened, my car would have ended up in the back of another car). So I looked up the wiring diagram in my Haynes manual and found that when you make the purple/yellow connection, you are bypassing the transmission module in the relay. Auto or manual, doesn't matter, it will bypass both. Well, looking at the diagram, I noticed that the brown wire in the theft deterrant module was the wire for this. So I connected the purple wire with the brown wire instead of the yellow. And no more starting without the clutch depressed! So, to make a long story short, don't connect the purple and yellow wires. Connect the purple and brown wires. Hopefully someone will read this and I'll save someone some money if they have to do this and their starter fries!

Hey Doom, I did this but the car will only fire up and then die. Did you do something else to get the fuel injectors to fire? I'm thinking about buying one of those Vats bypass modules. Any help would be great. Thanks

if you jump the yellow and purple at the relay instead of the switch it won't mess with the transmission switch.
