Noise from the Rearend

I have recently purchased a 2000 SS auto. with 49,000 miles on it. The question I have is I have noise coming from the rearend of car. Its only when I let off on the gas... My SS runs great, smooth when shifting, no strange noises when shifting. Just that noise when I let off on the gas. Nothing has never been replaced on the car since it only has 49,000 on it.. Thinking it may be the brakes. But I'm going check that out this weekend.. Any suggestions?

mine does that also. i took mine to a guy here in town and he said the rear will need to be " gone through soon" did not get a whole lot of detail from him. i was there for drive shaft problems. he heard it during the test drive. will get more detail next week.
