I can slam on the brakes and not lock them up (when ABS is off). i feel like I'm trying to stop a train. i was slowing from 110 and the fedal got worse every second. then i slammed on them from about 30 and then they just smoked from both sides. lol they still smoked a little when i pulled it into the garage. i have stock lt1 front brakes and duralast pads. heh. nothing special, but i was wondering if this happens to anyone else. also, you think i might need a new booster if my pedal sucks like it does?

My first thought is grease/oil on the rotors or pads..... When replaced, was the calipers/rotors cleaned properly????

My 80K mile stock pads and stock rotors pull the car down from 130mph trap speeds with no "smoke", and a very reasonable pedal pressure.

i turned the stock rotors myself. I've got about 5k miles on them since. pads don't have any grease. i cleaned and rebuilt the front calipers myself. bled them properly and everything. my pedal has never been great, even before the new motor that produces less vaccum. how much vaccum is needed to run the brakes? at 1500 rpm, i make 15-17 in of vaccum...it seems like that would be enough....???
