Apparently the Monte refresh was effective
Apparently the Monte refresh was effective
Its literally raining new 06 Montes around here . Lots of SS's and LTZ's . I thought it would do the total opposite and get pretty stale with the mild redesign .

Looks nice, but not nearly as nice as the SS.
I haven't seen an Impala SS yet though. But I see quite a few other trim levels driving around.
Re: Apparently the Monte refresh was effective
The SS has the best powertrain , but oddly ....the LTZ version is by far the best looking . Ive never liked the Monte , but they cleaned up pretty good in 06.

When do the restyled car hit dealer lots? MC sales are down ~7% for the year (through May), and were down ~19% for the month of May.
June sales data should be released very soon.

Re: Apparently the Monte refresh was effective
I'd be willing to bet the decline in sales is more due to a) less fleet sales and b) the fact that the MC was a VERY late debut for '06, and were barely trickling into dealers in January...
FWIW, I do all the auction buying for my dealer, and while I have no access to the GM dealer-only sales anymore the way I used to, the GM open auctions often have some nice stuff at them. When a black '06 SS makes its way through, I'll be hard pressed not to buy that for my demo
Something tells me the owner might not appreciate her sales manager in GM iron
However, since I drove the new SS back in March, I've been in love. I miss my GP a lot, but the new SS is so cool, I wouldn't miss it at all if I had one

Effective how!?
They've reduced output by 8% from the last model (05) which was already an extremely slow selling model.
Bring on Zeta RWD. You'll see EFFECTIVE!

Where do they sell the most Montes? NASCAR friendly places?
Re: Apparently the Monte refresh was effective
The refresh looks better, but to my eyes, the way the car looks from the b-pillars back was always the weirdest looking part, and all of that was left untouched.
