LCA Relocation Bracket Question! Help!

I'm getting ready to buy the UMI LCA's and panhard rod. (both non-adjustable)

Also, just an FYI my car is NOT lowered, and I am not planning on lowering it.

My question is this... should I also buy the LCA relocation brackets... or is that not necessary??

LCA relocation brackets are used to correct the LCA geometry for lowered cars. If you're not planning on lowering the car, then they serve no purpose.

Off of Spohn's website:

"NON-LOWERED vehicles will also see a dramatic increase in traction by lowering the rearward angle of the LCA with our relocation brackets. The lower mount holes are placed in the arc pattern of the OEM length LCA. Therefore allowing a non-lowered F-Body to drop the rear LCA angle and NOT require a longer than OEM LCA. All geometry is correctly maintained. The anti-squat performance is providing most users with a full .10 or better 60' reduction! "


And I have heard others say similar things, I had heard it was worth it for pinning back the power and improving traction.

Both answers are right, in a way...

The only reason you'd need RLBs is to correct the suspension geometry on a lowered car. But RLB's can improve the strait-line launch of a stock car. The downside is that they can make the car more prone to oversteer. RLB's for stock-height cars are definitely for drag racers, not autocrossers.

I'm getting some RLB's for my non-lowered car, so I guess we'll both know what effect they have.

They helped out just as much if not more than just the tubular LCA themselves. They also make installing the new ones much much easier. You should definitely get them, lowered or not.

Can you get relocation brackets for LCA's after they have already been installed? Ive had my LCA's for a couple years now and want to do the relocation brackets, but are they all pretty much universal is what I am asking I guess?

Yes.... you can add LCA reocation brackets at any time. If the LCA's fit into the stock LCA brackets, they will fit into the LCA relo brackets.
