Re: Spied: Totally Naked Silverado Z71!
I think I like the front 1/4 view (though the hood appears to be popped in that pic). The rear 3/4 view is a little strange to me, though I need to see it out of the shadows (actually, I just need to see it in person).
I was NOT expecting the bulging front and rear fenders. The front fender is what gives me pause about the rear 3/4 view, at least in that picture.
Looks like it has good sized mirrors, and the roof rack on top is an interesting touch. I wonder if it will offer spray in bedliner (or a composite bed option as the GMT800s had for a while).
Nice to see the differentiation from the SUVs; it is a very noticeable difference now.
I like the wheels, and it looks like it has a pretty beefy stance (wheel track is wide enough for the body, even with the bulging fenders).
The more I look, the more I like it. I still have to see the way the front fender bulges look in person though.
Great pics, btw!!

EDIT: I'd also love to see it without the damn tubular running boards. I think it will look even sharper without those hanging below the cab. I keep going back to the front picture, and it is cool how the truck looks both beefier and slicker/more refined.

I think a lot of people would pay for it from the factory if it came at a comparable cost to an aftermarket spray in liner.
This also would be FANTASTIC for lease customers, since aftermarket spray-in liners are often a no-no on leases (considered a modification)...

It looks alright - not bad, but not great either. If anything it's just too bland. It looks like they made the existing silverado have sex with the Colorado.
The only thing that glares as 'ugly' to me is the giant chevy bowtie badge on the rear.
If and when my GM card lets me get a full 3000 rebate on 'em I'll probably get one.

It also looks like it might have a power rear sliding window section. That doesn't look like an old school slider to me. I'm just guessing, of course, but it looks a little different.
Re: Spied: Totally Naked Silverado Z71!
I've stared at these pics a few times now.
Words and phrases that come into my head:
Generic. Bland. Looks like it was styled in the mid-90's.
The Dodge Ram is much more aggressively styled. The Ford F-150 is much more "smartly" styled (for lack of a better term).
And lastly, we get another interpretation of the ugly Audi/VW Jetta/Ford Explorer chrome-all-the-way-down-the-front-end theme, though this one is more subtle.
I guess I expected more "wow" styling. A more rugged or aggressive look. This makes me think of a mid-90's Dodge Dakota with a grille change.

I don't see any old school Dakota in it (at ALL).
The new Silvy has rather large, prominent bulges in the front fenders and the bed.Regarding the big chrome grille, that is sort of the most obvious departure from the Tahoe styling. On the SUV, they went after a more carlike, "refined" look, IMO. But on trucks, big chrome grilles seem to be a requirement (look at the mostrosities on the Ram, and the Ford Super Duties). I think even the new Tundra is getting a rather large grille.

Wow I really like it, based on photos. The hood is definately propped. I think the flared fenders give it a sportiness to the bed like a flare side. All in all very nice.
And to those who said it would share the 1/4 panels with the SUVs and look the same.

Maybe I'm being too harsh... but... I just expected a lot more, styling-wise, from the vehicle that single handedly could effect the next 10 years of this company.
It's not agressive. It's not brawny. It's not rugged. It's not muscular.... It's just.... there.
