NITTO NT 555R & Discount Tire "Heat Cycling"
Still scrounching around looking for the best setup for my car.
I like the above tires for the rear - 285x35ZRx18. However,
while on DiscountTireDirect.com (I think), there was a process
called "Heat Cycling" for the tires, I read it, but it does not explain
the process...does not give a simple explanation, for a complex mind.
....Please feel free to respond......Thanks

suspension: Red W/ Black Ttop, etc....Too much to list.
Re: NITTO NT 555R & Discount Tire "Heat Cycling"
Got a link? I've been running Nitto DRs for years now, both sets from Discount Tire - only warning I ever got was wait a couple days before going to the track cause they put lube on the wheels when mounting them.
The process for heat cycling is actually very simple. The tire is mounted on a wheel and then set up on rollers that spin the tire. It is heated gradully over a period of time to break down the weaker molicules in the tire and also stretches the tread compound. The benefit of this process is a tread compound that lasts longer and provides better traction.
Hopefully this is helpful information.
If you have any questions, let me know.
