How much to paint headlight cover + Front bumper?

So my dad ran into my car w/ the Tahoe, tahoe didnt even get a scratch but it bent the **** out of my drivers side headlight and scratched up my front bumper.
I am looking for just an estimate of how much it would cost to have these two parts re-painted professionaly to match the rest.

I am asking because I am trying to decide weather or not to claim it on my insurance since the deductible is $500.

If anyone has a drivers side headlight cover for sale for 93-97 firebird I would be interested.

$500 would be cheap, cost me $300 to repaint the back bumper, two days later some @$$ scratched it again.

haha... why do you have to claim it? Your dad's the one who did the damage. =)

Well, his name is on the title of both cars involved. I still pay for the insurance but we use his name since its a lot cheaper then an 18 year old. Looks like its going to need a new front bumper since its smashed so much.

New Front Bumper + HeadLight Cover + Paint ....Think its worth claiming for $500 deductible

Take it to a couple local body shops - they'll give you a free estimate.

Re: How much to paint headlight cover + Front bumper?

Front bumper cover will be about 250 new, headlight cover 100 or maybe less, and to install parts, paint and blend with the rest of the body probably 400-500 dollars for a professional job. So you're looking at less than 1000 to fix it, meaning its probably not worth claiming with a 500 deductible and having your insurance rates most likely go up because of the claim. Your best bet would be to get the parts from a junkyard or ebay and put them on yourself and just have a shop do the paint work, that way you'd cut the cost considerably.

Agreed! Dont turn that in.....your dad should be able to come up with $800-$900 to fix it. Your rates will go up for 3 years + if you turn it in!

If both cars are insured by the same company sometimes the deductible is waived.I had a similar thing happen and it didn't cost me anything with State Farm. As far as how rates may be affected I would check with my agent. My wife ans I are over 50 (ouch!) so nothing happened to ours.

I am wondering If I just say that it was in the street and got hit by someone else then I could claim it under composition sp? and rates are not effect, and my deductible is only 250.

Probably should be covered under "collision" (collision with another object). "Comprehensive" means loss caused by other than collision, falling objects, fire, lightning, theft, windstorm, etc. Laws vary from state to state, but your deductible/any rate increase will likely be the same regardless. Daddy needs to pay for any increase.

Well if your car was sitting in the street and you came back and found it ****edup your rates shouldnt go up since it wasnt your fault.
