Window Liner

Anyone know where I can get a new window liner to replace this one? A few of the brackets that hold it down are busted and its becoming to be a problem.

It's a belt moulding. Check Ebay, there was a guy selling a pair of new ones a few weeks ago. If not go to gmparts direct or a dealer.

I wouldn't buy a junk yard one or used at all for that matter, since a lot of times the clips get damaged in removal.

Mine is messed up too, and I didn't know what it was called....GMpartsdirect has it. Part #10284222 for the Right Side and #10284223 for the Left Side. It cost something like $31...

Thanks! Were they pretty easy to replace? I tried tightening the existing few clamps to make it stay on there tighter to compensate but that didnt work too well lol.

Haven't gotten it yet, but I'll let you know how it goes when I do...

Just line it up and smack it in. Not hard but you need to be sure everything lines up. If not they can be a bitch to get off.

I cut my thumb taking it off. You have to remove the interior door panel and mouldings as well as release the rear view side mirror. Unplug the switches etc. It took me a few hours.

I moved the two inner guides back, window down of course. Basically rolled it inward and pulled it up. Like I said, cut my thumb in the process. Putting it on was a little difficult. I did the very front first and moved back toward the rear of the door. You have to make sure the clips are over the flange properly and the lowest part of each clip has found the hole that it goes into. You can bend the upper clips and things don't go well. I used a very small plastic hammer to make sure the weather strip was fully down. You have to adjust the inner tension guides when complete. In my case, the window now stalls from the added resistance the new style strips create with their longer guides.

You have to bend the weather strip inward at the approximate position of each clip. Because the clips are spring steel they will give you quite a bit of resistance. Once you have moved the top of the weather strip inward far enough, that part of the strip will be obviously off the crimped flange where the inner and outer parts of the door are spot welded.

After all the clips are free of the top door crimp you can pull the bottom part of the clip out of the small hole that tab is in. Again, there will be some resistance because the spring steel of the clip must be bent some. I think I continued to pull inward but slightly upward at each clip. You will know when it comes free. This is where I cut myself btw.
