I put a crate 350 in my 67, in less than 50 miles it startred ticking. had a lifter collapsed on the no.2 exhust valv..installed a new lifter, still ticking, i guess its not pumping up, no oil out of the push rod., I didnt soak my lifters long..(i know i should have) before i installed the new one, could this somehow not pump up if its not primed, i thought, "and maybe i thought wrong" it would pump itself up after running a bit., only other thing i can think of is a clogged lifter oil gallery, if so anyone ever run into this problem?

im sure its not the headers or fuel pump,

If its a flat tappet the lobe could be going flat.

i wont rule that out, but itsa brand new cam and lifters, in a fresh crate engine, im saving that option for last:cool:

That's why I suggested it. The cam is most likely to go flat right off the bat.

he is right, cams go flat fast if they go flat at all

yeah, either right away or high mileage(all the flat cams I have seen were under 1000 miles, or over 125K miles)
