Just wonderd how many gallons my tank holds on my 97 Z-28? I filled up this week and it was near empty, and about 13 gals filled it just about to the full mark. I'm guessing it holds 15 gals.

I believe it's 15.5 gallons.

Most of the time, it takes about 13-14 gallons to fill mine up when it looks pretty close to empty. (1/8th tank and below)

I'm pretty sure the 99-02 LS1's have 18.5's with the plastic tanks.

I had around 130 miles when i filled it up, but i am kinda heavy on the foot!

Is there a noticeable difference in the appearance of the plastic tank? I'm wondering if someone didn't put one in my car. I can generally get well over 16 gal in my car. Sometimes if I'm running on fumes it'll reach 17.

 

One time I put 17.5 gallons in my 96, at least that's what the pump read. I figured the station was just ripping everyone off.

 

 

Was it a hot or cold day? Most pumps these days are corrected to 60 degrees. With underground storage tanks, the fuel is usually below 60, so with the temerature correction factors you are getting less than a gallon.
