Exhaust hitting upper Panhard Rod
Exhaust hitting upper Panhard Rod
I have a TSP Rumbler system on my car and it has recently started hitting my upper panhard rod. I have tried adjusting it, but I didn't get a change. Does anyone know how to fix this? It only does it when I go over bumps. It is driving me insane, I am about ready to hack the system off behind the muffler and just dump it in front of my rear axle.
Re: Exhaust hitting upper Panhard Rod
A good exhaust guy will be able to fix that in 5 minutes.
Ice Radiator & Muffler in Hemet, fixed the screw up that Advanced Muffler created when they welded in my GMMG. I wasn't even aware of that problem and he spotted it right away as soon as he had my car on the lift to weld my cat in (although after he told me I finally realized what the noise was I had been hearing).
He fixed the problem in 5 minutes, and didn't even charge me.

Re: Exhaust hitting upper Panhard Rod
I would have either an exhaust shop take a look at it or maybe the panhard relocation kit from BMR will do the trick. I wouldn't chop the upper panhard rod out, not on a street driven vehicle anyways.
Re: Exhaust hitting upper Panhard Rod
Well I took it to an exhaust shop and they looked at it, and decided that it was hitting the heat shield. So they cut a piece of it off. While it was in the air I noticed that one of my shocks was loose and moving up and down, so when I got home I tightened it up. BTWm removing the piece of the heat shield did not fix the problem. I am about to get ready to go out so I will see if maybe the noise actually had something to do with the loose shock.
