UMI 3 Point Subframes

I am thinking about getting the UMI 3 point, with the tubular brace mounted torque arm.

My questions are.

1. Will I have any clearance issues hooking this up with pacesetter long tubes with the Y pipe.

2. Is it really going to make much a difference with traction using aggressive street tires?

Also, does UMI offer us any kind of discount?

both of those mods are great for our cars. Get the adjustable tq arm so you can adjust for better traction and as far as SFC's they are a must.

I am looking at this torque arm, that connect to the 3 point http://www.umiperformance.com/2202.aspx

I am wondering though, how can traction be as good as the stocker, with the engine and tranny not torquing down onto it?

It is connecting to a solid point not the transmission, which i think is a horrible design especially the piece of junk bushing. Also it is stiffer and allows you to adjust your pinion angle. The stock torque arm is not being torqued down by the engine and transmission.

I would contact UMI first about the torque arm. With my Spohn arm for example, they have two different styles, one for a stock style exhaust and one for long tube headers. They will tell you for sure if it will work with your application. I'm pretty sure they run specials on ls1tech.com from time to time so if you are a member on there.. It should give you a little more bite on street tires, but a set of grippy tires will be your best traction mod.

I cannot say anything about the torque are fitment, but I do have the UMI 3 pt SFCs with Pacesetter LTs and Y-pipr and there is plenty of clearance.
