camarookid 03-20-2006, 12:32 PM my camaro ss pulled DEAD EVEN!!!!!!!!!! WITH A LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!!!!! it was so sick we were weaving in between cars at like 110 plus!!! finally we got up right next together and i downshifted into 3rd at like 75+ and into fourth and into fifth up to 145 and we stayed dead even!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS THE COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE!!!!!!! blue flames came out of his exhaust when i was behind him to get around cars! wow it was SO AWESOME!!
i just thought id tell you guys because you all have faster cars than me, and i just thought you would like to know you could take a 200,000 dollar LAMBORGHINI!!! :)
01MaroZ28 03-20-2006, 01:21 PM What year Lambo? Now, are you sure he/she was racing? If all you have is exhaust, there is no way you hung with him. I raced a Lambo and it raped me:bow: , and I know she was racing because I couldn't hear my car over the sweet sound of the Lambos exhaust, and my car is also loud. Yes, it was a girl driving it, and she was kind of cute. When I pulled up next to her she made this expression like, "Oh, I didn't know it could do that". Anyway he wasn't racing, he was just playing with you.
JakeRobb 03-20-2006, 01:29 PM Gallardo? It's either an '05 or an '06, and they're identical, so I'm not sure the year really matters.
I think he might have been playing with you too... those have like 500hp at all four wheels.
mikerulzu 03-20-2006, 02:03 PM Yeah, I got utterly spanked by a Murcielago.
Chocolate Apocalypse 03-20-2006, 02:39 PM Gallardos first model year was '04 and the other guys are right, he wasnt racing. Having driven one I can see how it could be beaten from stoplight to stoplight (nothing down low). Once they reach about 3500 to 4000 RPM they pull like a jet! One of the local guys worked one with his 408 '04 GTO, but he was putting down 470ish RWHP. The guy in the Lambo was just playing. :)
Josh-'04 GTO 03-20-2006, 08:36 PM Next time the Lambo driver will have to actually push the gas pedal past the 1/2 way mark!
MyZb383 03-20-2006, 08:45 PM Yeah, not only are they ~500HP, they weigh around 3150 lbs. So you're looking at about the same HP/weight ratio as a 2006 Z06, except the Z06 has a wider powerband and a bunch more torque.
Still, if he was racing and his car was running right, he would have been gone. BTW, top speed is listed at about 190+ MPH.
camarookid 03-20-2006, 10:53 PM whatever it was still the most awesome thing i have ever done in my life! so much fun! you guys should try it sometime hahahha
zyoulater 03-21-2006, 09:30 AM Good race. Anthing can happen on the street. I'm willing to bet the person in the Lambo couldn't drive.
JakeRobb 03-21-2006, 09:33 AM Good race. Anthing can happen on the street. I'm willing to bet the person in the Lambo couldn't drive.
It's AWD. Even if he sucks at shifting, once he's in gear and rolling, it's just a matter of mashing the pedal and hanging on to the wheel.
He was either in the wrong gear (possibly on purpose), or he didn't have it floored.
NightWindDriftr 03-21-2006, 10:14 AM Weaving between cars at +110 =
camarookid 03-21-2006, 04:03 PM ya it was more like 90ish it wasnt really 110 because i wasn't watching my speedo my friend was and he said it wasnt that fast but we really did hit 140 in a straight line w/ no cars around it was so awesome! ok well if he was just playing with me why wouldn't he have at least dusted me once, just to show it off??? I mean maybe to play with me ok, but eventually he should have "opened it up" dont cha think?
cndctrdj 03-21-2006, 04:11 PM well i know anything can happen on the street so im gonna say nice race but keep it safe no more weaving in and out of traffic
wait till its really late at night and go all out
ha ha ha ha h a
nice job representing the fbody
GT KILLER 03-21-2006, 04:25 PM Dude......even at 90 it's not cool to weave in between cars. Good way to kill someone.
camarookid 03-21-2006, 10:02 PM ya it was stupid ill call it a life lesson but it was still awesome!
IdahoLT1 03-21-2006, 10:40 PM Anything can happen. I had a video at one point of a Diablo running a 13.8 at the track. Your right live and learn but please keep it reasonable. Doesnt take much to get those rear ends to break loose and go sideways, and at 100+ those pictures of the after math wont be pretty.
Mighty 03-22-2006, 07:51 AM Maybe he was racing with the cruise control buttons.
ZLT195 03-22-2006, 08:11 PM Weaving between cars at +110 =
You and the Lambo could end up like this (http://www.wreckedexotics.com/special/enzo/)
camarookid 03-23-2006, 12:47 PM ya dude! that wreck happened about a month ago and was in all of the news papers in my area! the guy driving was a total **** up. it is the most amazing crash i have ever seen!!! the engine was like 100 yards away from the rest of the car lol
owen_richards 03-23-2006, 03:07 PM wow it doesnt sound at all a surprise for you guys to meet a lambo on the street...here in winnipeg i happen to know there is only one lambo here its a murceilago...owned by the richest resident here...i only seen it 3 times
myslowcamaro 03-23-2006, 04:36 PM wow it doesnt sound at all a surprise for you guys to meet a lambo on the street...here in winnipeg i happen to know there is only one lambo here its a murceilago...owned by the richest resident here...i only seen it 3 times
few years back i witnessed a worked ls1 destroy a countach or vt. in nj, plenty of philadelphia atheletes live in ritzy areas there, so not too uncommon to see a ferrari, lambo, bentley etc. anyway ls1 was mystic colored and lined up against the lambo on rt 73 down the road from the lambo dealer (kerbeck for the locals) green light; lambo had a jump and.... and thats about it for the lambo, the camaro had some sort of f.i by the ungodly noise it made and beat the lambo senseless.
GT KILLER 03-23-2006, 08:54 PM You and the Lambo could end up like this (http://www.wreckedexotics.com/special/enzo/)
Holy ****!!!!!
camarookid 03-23-2006, 09:13 PM ya i live in/near probably the richest area in the bay area so i see an exotic car maybe once or twice a week, its pretty sweet lol. I know a guy who owns a CARRERA GT AND AND ENZO!!! he's tight though, and my neightbor has a ford gt, fast as ****!!!!
GT KILLER 03-24-2006, 12:09 AM It's either weave in and out of cars or smash into the back of them.
Um no. If there's enough traffic out there that you'd have to weave in and out of them at 100+, then there shouldn't be any racing going on in the first place.
nj87ttype 03-24-2006, 02:09 AM I raced one on the way home from the Borgata one night. I had to go 100 just to catch up & pace him. The coolest part is that when I caught up to him I realized I knew the guy, he goes to Borgata a lot. So we messed around back & forth the whole way down the expressway. Took me about 20 minutes to get from the begining of the expressway to exit 41(Sicklerville). I talked to him a few days after that I was like remember that Firebird on the expressway lastweek, that was me lol.
GT KILLER 03-24-2006, 06:16 AM Let's think about this for a second. There is going to be vehicle on the road somewhere. At 100+mph, you cover a lot of ground VERY quickly. Unless the slower moving vehicles move over for the two cars who could happen to be in adjacent lanes, they're going to have to weave at some point.
No, dude, listen. Maybe at like, 2:00 in the morning when there's BARELY any cars on the road, go 100 mph. If you come across 1 or maybe 2 cars, obviously you're going to have to move around them. I think you're reading a bit much into my comments.
Don't go 100 mph in a traffic situation in which you have to weave in and out of the traffic--that obviously means the road is too populated and you shouldn't be going that much over the speed limit. The way this guy made it sound was that it was a fairly populated road and they had to weave in and out recklessly to avoid hitting anyone.
Get it now?
camarookid 03-24-2006, 12:06 PM it definitially wasn't wreckless. when i said weaving around cars at 100+ i ment one or two cars and they definitially weren't that close together. I know the difference between driving wrecklessely and having some fun. I was on the fun side for sure.

Around here, driving 100+ is considered reckless driving, even on a deserted, straight road.
camarookid 03-24-2006, 12:30 PM Around here, driving 100+ is considered reckless driving, even on a deserted, straight road.
so your telling me your not guilty of "wreckless" driving than? im sure everyone on this forum has been over 100 in their cars on the highway.....
im not being a jerk or anything, but everyone likes to have a little fun sometimes and the track isn't always avaliable.
SailorZ28 03-24-2006, 03:01 PM I wish I was 16 again....
a kid shouldn't have a fast car like that.
JakeRobb 03-24-2006, 03:09 PM so your telling me your not guilty of "wreckless" driving than? im sure everyone on this forum has been over 100 in their cars on the highway.
I made no such claim. I've done 100+ many times. It was reckless when I did it, and it was reckless when you did it.
Ideally, we would both stop driving recklessly on public roads. I've been doing it less, but I haven't stopped. I just can't get to the track often enough.
Come on, people, it's spelled reckless. There is no W.
camarookid 03-24-2006, 10:13 PM ya you are right it all depends on traffic. The lambo and I were all alone until we hit a little spot of traffic and we have to get passed a couple of cars, no big deal i just got flashed by them a lot lol. That was seriously only like the 5th-6th time i have been over 100ish since i have owned my car. I know im gonna get labeled as a reckless kid since im 17 and have a camaro ss. but i am actually a really good driver. I've been to 2 safety schools and one racing school. Im a lot safer than the average kid, but i obviously don't have the experience of you guys.....
NightWindDriftr 03-24-2006, 11:07 PM it definitially wasn't wreckless. when i said weaving around cars at 100+ i ment one or two cars and they definitially weren't that close together. I know the difference between driving wrecklessely and having some fun. I was on the fun side for sure.
No offence bro, but on the streets there isn't a difference. I'm guilty of doing the same thing once before too, in even worse traffic (but going a LOT slower). If you ever have a newborn on the way home from the hospital in the backseat, I'm sure that a pair of cars pushing as little as 15 above the speed limit is going to make you nervous.
Just take it easy and be careful for everyone's, and your sake.
camarookid 03-25-2006, 08:57 PM ya thats exactly what i do. just make sure you know what every car infront of you is doing. Ya ive been keeping it really mello when i drive now. I dont ever drive like that really, it was just fun to do that once because how many times will a lamborghini want to race me spontaniously on the freeway!!! it was just a one time thing and im glad i got it out of my system :)
IdahoLT1 03-25-2006, 11:43 PM Different cars make you do different things. when im in my work truck i drive the speed limit and people always fly past. I always call them jackasses and hope an ISP car is lookin for speeders. But when im in my Firebird im like "get the **** outta the way."
myslowcamaro 03-26-2006, 12:05 AM (beater) if someone wants to drive quicker than me, fine, ill get out of the way. but if someone is driving like a complete jacka$$, i will get in the way and hope they hit me. what are they going to say, "yeah i rear ended him while doing 80 in 55!" even if they lie, the blackbox doesnt. around here they do check the box on most accidents if the car is totalled. i had 3 cars hit my chevy 3500 worktruck this way totalling 2 of 3, while only denting my bumper.
(camaro) i dont speed around unless noone is in sight for a good mile. i had 1 experience where i was proving a point one night and i took the car up full speed. a couple cars were well ahead of me. the brakes overheated and one car cut over so i had no lanes to pass and i missed hitting them by about 6 feet. that was with brakes floored, downshifting an a4 and using the e-brake. speeding thru traffic is sheer stupidity, and ive been guilty of it too.
blackztpi 03-26-2006, 12:36 AM i'm sure it was fun, but yeah thats kinda dangerous. I've seen lots of bad stuff happen from that...all from kids who can't really drive their cars well. It's kinda hard to wreck going 90 in a straight line, but it's another to be weaving. lol damn son....
JakeRobb 03-26-2006, 01:21 PM Now, hold on a second. You're saying it's NOT reckless to drive the speed limit?
Not sure where you came up with that....I'm not talking about what's safe, I'm talking about what's legal. You can get a ticket for "reckless driving," and that's what I've been talking about all along.
Regardless of any other characteristic you could use to describe your driving and/or the traffic conditions, 100+ is considered reckless. More than 35 over the limit is also considered reckless, so if the speed limit is 25, 60 will get you a speeding ticket, but 61 is reckless.
Regardless of speed, weaving in and out of traffic can also be considered reckless (this is more subjective, but you can pretty much count on cops not putting up with it at all). You could be doing exactly the speed limit, and weaving is still reckless.
We could argue about why the laws are the way they are, but I think they're pretty reasonable in this case. If you get a ticket for reckless and you were doing any of the above (100+, more than 35 over, or weaving), I'm guessing you deserved it, and I'm guessing that it could easily be considered "unsafe."
Whatever. I would have raced the Lambo too. :D
Just be careful.
