Meguiars car detail stuff ROCKS! EXCEPT their polish, it is the SUCK!

I've spent the last several hours washing my car, clay bar, cleaning the paint then it was time for the polish. Just like the last three times it simply smears and is a pain in the *** to get off. It makes NO damn difference at all. So I only did the hood to see if I could tell a difference when I was done. I'm gonna take the wax off in about 30 mins. Meguiars = the win! Meguiars polish = the suck!

Wax protects your clear coat and paint.

What products are u using?

Did u wax then polish? Its probably supposed to be used with a machine, the heat and friction will dry it up a bit.

Ive been using Meguiars for about 15+ years and like the results... Once I tried Mothers, half one side and the other with Meguiars; to me the Meguiars had a better shine.... JMO

I've been using the new Meguiars NXT wax, and am quite pleased with the results. Goes on easy, and comes off easy too. Very little dust or residue. And gives a very deep shine.

Regarding Mothers, I've tried a lot of their stuff, and was not impressed. Their version of "Quick Detailer" (thats the Meguiars stuff) is awful: leaves a streaky mess. Their waxes are nothing to write home about, either. The only Mothers product I like is their aluminum wheel polish (I've found it works well to remove graffiti, and stains off countertops, too)

I've got a starter pack of Zaino, which I'm going to try this spring, once my cars new paint job has had time to fully cure.

Try the NXT, I think you will be quite impressed with it.

**BTW, the "Booster Wax NXT" doesnt seem to do a whole lot, so stick with the wax, comes in a box with a applicator pad.

FWIW, the Showtime detail spray by Mother's is awesome, as well as their new Reflections Car Wax and Reflections Top Coat.

Polish is always harder to take off. I just did mine with meguires professional series glaze and its a pain with just a terry cloth. I usually go over it the best i can and then let my orbital buffer do the rest. I am always happy with the shine and deep color it leaves, especially if I havn't done it in half a year. Then throw a coat or two of wax to protect it and feels nice and smooth. Love how a towel glides after a wax. Which polish did you use? I think my glaze is their #7 if i recall right.

Yah, the only mothers product that is worth the money is thier wheel polish like someone else here stated. That stuff is a really tough compound and eats through grime like no other.

I used a combination of both today:

1 coat of Mothers Carnuba cleaner wax

2 Coats of Meguiars NXT on top.

I liked working with the mothers more, I'm going to try to get a mothers non cleaner carnuba to put more layers on later this year.

Both products went on and came off easy, minimal dust, made the cloth yucky, very gummy feeling.

It's a pretty deep shine with this combo for me, and it lasts quite a wile!
