theres a lot going on by the shifter area. theres the two 12v cigarette lighter outlets, theres a two wire light coming off that same wire harness for the ashtray and heading to the back of the shifter (towards the rear of the car) under the cup holder theres the air bag module. dont mess with the yellow wire. the clutch safety/anticipate switch is at the very top of the clutch pedal, if you flip upside down and look under the dash you can catch it. its easier sometimes to take off the lower instrument panel off (dont be surprised if a spring falls to the ground when you take this off). there are two switches, one faces the firewall at the very front of the pedal, thats the one cruise control uses to know u pressed the clutch, and theres the one attached to the clutch pedal assembly which is closest to firewall with the switch part facing the rear of car. theres a trick to getting the wire unhooked from there... easy way is to pull up and out on the switch itself (careful with the small metal clip) and just take the wire off if pulling up and out does not work it might be pulling down and out i cant remember since last i was there i was upside down. You might have a bad switch, take the harness connected to that and just short the two wires temporarily to see if it cranks... I personally have my switch disabled cus i see no reason for it, if you dont know your in gear you shouldnt be driving a stick. remember that the pcm has to be torqued sometimes precicesly or else you will have issues. check with a volt meter if there is current going to the ignition modules when you try to turn over. you might have a vats issue also.
i apologize in advance for my spelling
