Guys, I want to help a friend that I've sold a Moser 12-bolt off my 96 Z28 to.
Here's a little background, so you can understand the situation.
First of all, I purchased this 12-bolt off a 2002 Camaro SS less than a year ago. I gave seller my 10-bolt plus cash, he gave me his Moser 12-bolt. A local shop did the swap, and as far as I know, there was no issues with the swap.

Now let's forward to the present. I've just sold my Moser 12-bolt to a friend here in Colorado. He has a 2000 Trans-Am, LS1 of course.
He's now having problems with the install, and things are not clicking as it should with his install.

This is where you guys come in, and I want to ask you for answer to what's going on.
This is the post my friend posted on another board, see if you know what he's talking about...

Quote: "I bought a used Moser 12 bolt that was in a '96 Z28, this rear was originally in an '02 SS! (so things were changed)

it is correct 4 channel. ( I do have ABS/TC)

I found today the the brake brackets won't work, and the reluctor ring is different. 47 teeth on my stocker, 53 on the 12 bolt axles.

what do I need to make this work? is the inside diameter of my stock reluctor ring that same, so I can just re-use them on the 12 bolt?

and can I just call moser for the right parts to make it work with my stock brakes?

thanks for any help!"

Regards,
Goose :)

I asume you had your stock brakes hooked to it? The backing plates are diffeent between the LT1 and LS1 years, and the shop probably swapped them out for you. I guess they didn't charge you if they did, or you would have known about it...

Never heard anything about the reluctor rings though so that is news to me. But I would think it should still work the same as long as they have the same count on both sides... But I could be wrong...
