Question Cost of a Supercharger? What goes with it?

I dont know much about superchargers( besides how they work) but i do know i want one! Im on a budget, so the cheaper, the better. From a completly stock sand point lt1 a4 96( with the cai and a flowmaster 80 and thats it!!!), how do i begin, whats the cheapest decent stuff i can get, how much would it cost me, how much should install cost, and how much power can i pull off? Or should i just go with a cam and some heads? Or ill i need these to support the supercharger? Or should i look to spend my money elsewhere? thanks for the advise-danny

Im pretty much just looking for the ones that they say to just stick onto stock cars, the cheapest one, im not looking for huge power. Also for this type of application, what brand would you all recommmend?

In all honesty, if money is your primary consideration...go a different route.

Yeah dude.... I started off with a good deal on a D1 now it's snowballed into a 10K affair!

First you blow a few grand on a supercharger, then the engine snaps something . You're already into this baby, so now you add more $$ for pistons, clutch, etc., and want to "do it right". By the time you are half-done, you could've bought a house in Virginia. (you SHOULD have bought a house in Virginia!!)

Is it the financially sound thing to do? No. Is it a helluva lot of fun! Unequivically Yes!!

I love the streetability factor of FI, and the gas mileage as opposed to a heads cam package, but I dont know if I want to take the plunge yet because of the huge risk factor on a high compression engine
