Crank Trigger -vs- Dual Sync Distributor

I am pretty sure my opti has gone bad again. I am running GEN7 DFI, so, adding a dual-sync distributor would be an option. Now the question is, take the intake off, drill it for a distributor and run a dual-sync, or replace the opti and add a crank trigger for the crank signal so I can run sequential ???

Any opinions?

Thanks,

Toms River isn't that big :) .. I know John, haven't seen him in a while, I don't cruise 37 too often anymore .. Too much at stake w/ all the cops and ricers ..

Anybody else have any opinions on the above matter? :D

Does the dual-sync allow you to run sequential as well?

Yep, the dual sync gives the crank and cam signal so I can run sequential. But, I've heard of people running a flying magnent or crank trigger in high horse-power applications instead of the dual-sync because the signal gets skewed or something with the dual-sync..

That's what I thought. Yeah, I've heard the same thing before. Does it seem to be a widespread issue with the dual-sync or just a few people saying this? I'd think if it was a big issue it would be fixed, but who knows.

I'd lean towards the crank trigger setup since the dual-syncs seem to have problems. The only problem is the machining required for a blower setup cause of the pulley. Granted the intake would need to be drilled for the distributor, but I'd just go to a single plane myself if I were doing that.
