Who would win??
One of my friends wants to race me with his pretty stock 5.0 mustang and is kinda talkin s**t about how hes gonna win
. so should i start talkin crap back
or do u guys think i would have trouble beating him. my mods are in my sig along with 8.5 mm msd wires.

I have an 80 Z28 with the SUPER SAD smog motor. All i have done to it mod wise is put true dual exhaust with no cats and advanced the timing a decent amount and on practice night I was one of three cars running in my class. I raced the same 5.0 4 times in a row and the only time he even came close to beating me was when my side of the tree shorted out and my lights didnt go. My 80 runs a 15.3 quarter at 89.

This isn't even something to speculate over, I don't know why anyone is even worried.
Yes, 5.0 foxes are cool (I happen to love LX notches) but they were competition for 3rd gens, not a LT1 4th gen. Let alone a LT1 4th gen with the mods we're talking about.
The 5.0 is going to lose, and lose badly. There isn't even anything to sweat here.

Okay okay okay....I used to have ZX2 in highschool, then I had an RX7, then I had a 99 GT, now my current ride.
Anyways, my best buddy in the world was Rick Dale McCarter from Ditmer, MO and he had a Fox Body 5.0 and ran 15.4's all day with bolt ons. Mind you my ZX2 was the slowest car I've owned and it ran 15.2's.
You should be more scared of a modded/cammed Escort then his 5.0.
(And when I say scared, I mean, you should have to worry about killing it off the line, not pulling slightly by the end of the race)
AND THAT ZX2 beating a 5.0 IS SAYING SOMETHING!

Find out what his idea of "stock" is...
To a Stang owner stock = CAI, headers, full cat back(9 times out of 10 is a Flow-myster), ORX pipe, short throw shifter, steep rear gears, drag radials, ignition, new distributor, advanced timing, and assload of suspension goodies.

It's "crazy" when it has forced induction AND nitrous.
But chances are you'll wipe his *** with a rock.
