christianjax 01-19-2006, 12:37 PM Seeings how the road is infested with Silver and "Blah" colored (any metalic shade of browns, tan, gold ect...) cars on the road. I worry that the new Camaro will come in these boring, droll colors. Muscle cars and Pony cars should be either Black, White, Blue, Red (not Burgundy) Yellow, Orange, Purple or even some shades of Green. So the question at hand is, if you could go to your local Chevy dealer today and order your Camaro, what color would you wish for??
jg95z28 01-19-2006, 12:41 PM Gold boring?
Them is fightin' words, bub!
http://home.comcast.net/~blackwoodgarcia/69camfan/camarorsgold67ext4.jpg
Personally I think the metallic silvers, golds and tans look classy and modern.
However, I'd mostly go for a shade of blue, red or green.
christianjax 01-19-2006, 12:49 PM hey nothing personal. Gold is very nice....in jewelry. Haven't you noticed the trend over the past several years to go to more neutral colors like silver and blah? I read somewhere that about 70% of all new cars sold are either Silver or Blah. With the resurgence of 60's car designs, I think it only fitting to bring back the vibrant colors of that period.
christianjax 01-19-2006, 12:55 PM I'll take either Black or Blue (depending on the shade of Blue)
Musclecars came in other colors besides red and black?! :D ;)
Bert02SS 01-19-2006, 01:00 PM I agree with christianjax, the shade of blue will be critical. As for me, I liked the medium quasar blue metallic on my '96, but I don't go for the navy blue. How about Candy Apple Red? Ah yes . . .
TTopJohn 01-19-2006, 01:21 PM I think the car needs wild and subdued colors - you can pick what kind of Camaro you want that way. i.e. my Light Pewter Metallic almost looks classy. But the same year they had Hugger Orange, which just looks Baaaaaad (particularly as an SS with chrome wheels), in a trashy, flashy sort of way.
I think Dark Red/Maroon, Millenium Yellow, Polo Green, Hugger Orange, Light Pewter Metallic, Medium Quasar Blue, a dark metallic purple, Spiral Grey Metallic, navy blue metallic, and of course Onyx Black, Speedway White, and bright red would be good colors. I'd like to see one like they did in 97 - orange and white with a houndstooth check interior :)
SAM98TAM6 01-19-2006, 01:23 PM Make my 'vert triple black, please.
:)
CCoop8830 01-19-2006, 01:32 PM Is that Olympic Gold? Thats the color my dads 69 Camaro was.
anuarism 01-19-2006, 03:05 PM My 67 Bird is the same gold color.
mdlestat 01-19-2006, 03:19 PM The car needs a variety of colors y'all-- remember-- it has to appeal to a WIDE group of buyers-- the colors that de-sportify the car are preferable to a lot of the less-adventurous V-6 buyers-- so don't expect a "bold colors only" C6 Corvette palette.. diversity is good, right?
That said, My C5 was Navy Blue Metallic, and I thought it was about the sexiest, classiest color I've ever owned. My 98 Camaro was Sebring Silver, which was also pretty classy looking... but
What will I buy this one in?
For the first time in my life, (and mostly because of a photoshop job I saw on here), I am seriously considering a Black car--
jeebus, that was an awesome look... Unless another color really grabs me, I think I'm gonna hafta go with the glassy sexiness of a black Z/28-- pain-in-the-ass cleaning issues and all... ;) cheers
poSSum 01-19-2006, 03:23 PM In the sig.
MissedShift 01-19-2006, 03:38 PM I think the two best looking non-white/black/red 4th gen colors were Navy Blue Metallic, and Sunset Orange Metallic. Those cars made an impact to people who knew what they were looking at, without the "HEY! LOOK AT ME!" of the hugger orange...
Still, if its availible, hugger orange for me... ;)
jg95z28 01-19-2006, 04:04 PM Is that Olympic Gold? Thats the color my dads 69 Camaro was.
Nope. 1967 Granada Gold Metallic.
94Camaro_Z_28 01-19-2006, 04:30 PM Laser Blue Z28 for me
BVrider 01-19-2006, 04:44 PM For me I'm thinking black.(I have so personal reasons way)But also because I love the bat,and after seeing Batman Begins,I want my next car to be black, as well as a vert. Either that,or Red w/white racing stripes like my first Camaro.(92 model)
Camaro25thann 01-19-2006, 05:50 PM I absolutely must have mine Red w/ Black stripes to match my 92 RS Heritage Edition! My garage will be called the Toy Box with my identical paint job 3rd and 5th gens sitting side by side:cool:
HTWLSS 01-20-2006, 12:54 PM Make my 5th gen in Daytona Yellow please. If I can't have that, I want a nice, bold blue with white stripe(s), and my other choice would be Arctic White with a red interior/stripe(s) .... (stark, bright, marshmallow white - not that vanilla ice cream color they gave the Corvettes in recent years when they changed from Arctic White to Speedway White)
The color of the C5 coupe in front....not the Z06 next to the curb.
http://8.3.8.118/chazcone/corvette/bobz06/bothwhites.jpg
Nope. 1967 Granada Gold Metallic.
Yup, same as my '67 6-cyl convertible - GLDLOX, parked next to our friend's '67 SS - BIG SAM.

nowandthen 01-20-2006, 07:52 PM I've always liked white as long as there are enough black accents on the car, Black grille, deep tint windows, etc). Some nice black or orange stripes on white would be nice. I'd also like to see a deeper red than what they have offered lately. Black always looks good but I don't want to have to dust it or wash it every day.
5thgen69camaro 01-20-2006, 08:10 PM Im hoping for the 69 Lemans blue with white stripes. Its offered on the current Z06 BTW I cant imagine Hugger Orange paint will be left out either seing as how it showed up all over the interior of the car.
Ray86IROC 01-21-2006, 12:08 AM I'm hoping the new Camaro gets some of the sweet colors the 06 GTOs are available in, I saw some pics of some very interesting shades of reds and blues on a GTO site somewhere. Will help the car to standout...
Nope. 1967 Granada Gold Metallic.
That was the color of my father's 67 Camaro SS w/ the L78 (with a black vinyl top I believe, and I was thinking a black bumblebee stripe but I don't remember). He said it was a mistake to order it in that color, it looked good nice and cleaned up but in poor light or when not shining he liked to call it "Granada Tan". Blue w/ white BB stripe is what he looking back would have liked to have ordered...
I'll take mine in arctic white please. Just like my '01.
stone4779 01-21-2006, 01:30 PM I think it would be cool to have a dark black that has a slight gray haze to it. Then throw in a bunch of silver metal flake.
Also, if it looks right on the car, a baby blue "cream puff" color would be cool as well.
Those & light pewter metallic would be the only colors I would consider...
Brangeta 01-21-2006, 02:14 PM Nassau Blue metallic or Bright Purple metallic for me!
http://www.fred.net/zymurgist/carlisle2000/gb-vette.jpg
http://www.lswon.com/gallery/resize/cars/ls1/purple/purple_08.jpg
christianjax 01-23-2006, 10:21 AM That purple TA is SWEET! I love it. Never seen that color on a f Body before.
Abidar 01-23-2006, 11:20 AM I firmly believe the most beautiful color any car can be produced in is black. Black will show you everything from imperfections to perfect lines. In fact, my first mod will likely be black wheels with a polished lip.
HAZ-Matt 01-23-2006, 12:39 PM I think the two best looking non-white/black/red 4th gen colors were Navy Blue Metallic, and Sunset Orange Metallic. Those cars made an impact to people who knew what they were looking at, without the "HEY! LOOK AT ME!" of the hugger orange...Yes.
I personally would not be sad if the paint mix instructions for Pewter Metallic were lost forever.
christianjax 01-23-2006, 02:37 PM Yes.

Amen Brother, couldn't agree more. That color belongs on my grandfather's buick.
Brangeta 01-23-2006, 03:46 PM That purple TA is SWEET! I love it. Never seen that color on a f Body before.
It's a stock color called Bright Purple Metallic that was only used on the '97 and '98 Firebirds and Camaros. It's pretty darn rare, especially on the Trans Am and Z28. Don't believe a single SS was ever in that color.

From '95 to '96 there was Dark Purple metallic, which is more plum colored and 8 to 9 times more common (in other words, GM made about 8 or 9 times more in the plum color than in the indigo color).
Highpx 01-23-2006, 08:51 PM I'd have to say that if I had to pick today I would go with black. However, if I obtain a black ls1 ws6 before then I might just have to switch to a blue if it is the right shade.
I currently have "look at me" red on my 93 camaro and I want the "get the hell out of the way" look that both the ws6 and camaro concept have while painted black. Just scary
Think I'll have enough garage space to have my 93z28, a ws6, new camaro, and a truck for winter driving... only being a few years out of college?? ;)
SGMZ28 01-24-2006, 03:12 AM I already own a 4th gen gold Z28, don't know if I want my 5th gen in gold.

Your good with a camera thats all I have to say. NICE shots!
black
white
red
blue
polo green
yellow
silver
charcoal
SOM
done.
305fan 01-24-2006, 08:17 AM a green and a nice blue with no hint of purple!
Orange and purple should be banned from cars.
Jason E 01-24-2006, 11:44 AM My 5th gen will be either Hugger or Sunset Orange (PRAYING for Hugger to be available :D )...whatever they offer. If they offer neither, then there better be a yellow or a great looking blue...I second the Medium Quasar Blue comment mentioned above. After owning a white and orange Camaro for 5 years, boring just won't work for me. And I have to admit...an orange 5th gen will look great in the garage next to the '97 :D
67speeda 01-24-2006, 05:54 PM corvette radar blue.....although it really is purple:think:
black with silver strips
Dark bLue with silver strips
Plain black
all sounds good 2 me
72 Z27 01-24-2006, 09:39 PM Just include a SOM or Hugger Orange and I would be happy.
Big Als Z 01-24-2006, 11:19 PM That Cobalt Blue (the color, no the car) that I see on the Nox's and on all the Malibu SS in pics.
Has to be a red red, something that really stands out.
Gotta have SOM
Then your standard assortment of colors. But I want to see more pop in the paint. I dont know what it is, but GM needs to step it up in paint quality.
Brangeta 01-25-2006, 02:30 PM Wouldn't it be kind of cool if GM reinvented the color trends in the US, and offered some really uncommon paint options? Such as painted on stripes or fades from one color to the next?
I'd love to have a Camaro that was Nassau Blue metallic on top and faded to purple or teal.

My 98's Mystic Green is pretty nice and turns purple in the right light when its waxed.
Brangeta 01-25-2006, 03:05 PM Yea, I like that paint, but it is too green to me. If they made that color more bright bluish, I'd definitely get it :).
I actually spent nearly an hour at work one day a few months ago fine-tuning exactly what color I wanted to paint a 4th gen, and this is what I came up with. This is 100% my EXACT favorite car color. I'd love a 5th gen in this exact color.
