Talking WB O2 in place of Stock O2

Would a WB O2 sensor work in place of the Stock O2? Would the PCM work with it.

I am asking because I am going to put a WB O2 sensor with Display in my car so that I can Moniter my A/F Ratio all the time. But I don't like to have too many extras. So If it is possible I would replace the stock O2 with WB and hook up a DIY WB kit to the same O2's. I don't think it would work, but I figured I would ask the experts.

Thanks!!!!

No it won't work. The PCM isn't programmed to care about anything other than rich, lean, or stoic. The programming can't be changed either. www.techedge.com.au is working on a version of the DIY WB that will have the ability to convert the WB readings into NB format so they can be fed to the PCM. This doesn't make the readings going to the PCM anymore accurate, it just keeps the PCM from going crazy when you put the WB in place of the stock sensor. The new revision isn't on their website yet, but Peter has been talking about it on the mailing list. You can email him more about it if you like.
