Baer recamends doing the calipers first, then replacing the pads? OBE1 95Z28 10-31-2005, 09:30 PM New pads and rotors can be bedded at the same time. Start by making several firm stops at around 20 mph, then increase speed and make several firm stops at 50 mph. You'll smell the brake pads so don't panic. Drive around for about 5 minutes to let the system cool down then bump the speed up to about 70 mph and make several firm stops. Again drive around for 5 - 10 minutes to let the system cool down. Park the car and don't apply the emergency brake to allow the system to fully cool off.
