Tire Size?

Is a 275/40/17 tire the same height as a 245/50/16? Any help appreciated!

They're 0.1% larger.

Yeah, well, when he's doing 1001mph and his speedo only reads 1000, I figured that would be good information to have.

Anyway, I was really just posting to give that link. It's a handy little thing. Now, if only it would tell you who (if anyone) makes tires in your selected size...

Go to Tire Rack, click on "search by size", enter 275/40-17 and you get 51 choices, including a huge selection of racing tires. Does not include Nitto, because Tire Rack doesn't sell them for some reason.

Re: Tire Size?

I mean the tire calculator I linked. It will tell you that 275/45R16's fit, with minimal need for speedo recalibration. What it won't tell you, though, is that nobody makes 275/45R16's.
