What takes wax and buffing compound off plastic?LtsRace 09-18-2005, 08:59 PM I got compound all over the plastic under my windshield and wipers. Its not coming off b/c they are porus. Is there a product that will get it out? SFB767 09-18-2005, 09:56 PM I did that once. Find a small brush about the size of your hand with plastic bristles that are semi-stiff and get a bottle of Windex. Grab a towel and spread it out over your hood to protect it from all of this. Spray the Windex over the area and then scrub it hard with the brush so that it's getting into the pores and do this until it suds up. When it's foamy, wipe it clean and dry with a paper towel and then spray ArmorAll onto a paper towel and treat the area. Even when you're not trying to get wax or compound off plastic, applying ArmorAll to that piece of plastic below the wipers every other wash or so WILL help to protect it against the FL sun. ChicagoTransAm 09-21-2005, 03:45 PM I think this should be a sticky. I've often wondered the best way to do this myself...and I'll be damned. Your plan worked flawlessly!
