Too Cam Or Not Too Cam
Ill Start With My Current Mods:
350 Balanced .030 over With ARP Bolts throughout
TRW Forged pistons (9:1 comp)
Edelbrock Performer RPM #6089 heads (Aluminum) (yea, i know they suck), Edelbrock performer RPM intake, Holley 750 DP, Nitrous Kit 100-300, Full MSD ignition, Long Tubes, Duals (no y pipe) plus all the small things, Roller Rockers, pushrods, double roller chain, holley blue fuel pump... so on..
Before I Removed the B&M Blower the car had this cam:
Lunati cam (.509 244 112)
2600-6500 RPM RANGE
313°328°
244°254°
.509".533"
.339".355"
112° Sep
This cam was made for a Supercharger setup ( www.holley.com #01007LSK) But I now have Nitrous and I'm stuck if i should remove this cam and get a nitrous/strip cam.. Ive noticed that some of the cams Lunati Offers for Nitrous Setups also have a 112 lobe seperation..
If i were to pull this cam, id like to have something with smaller duration, meaning a lower RPM range (preferbly 2000-6000) to better match my other parts..
Ive looked @ the Edelbrock Cams And They pretty much Suck. Too high of duration, not enough lift. Crap *** RPM Ranges.
Any Suggestions?
Thanks!
(BTW, the cam doesnt have to be Lunati.)

Re: Too Cam Or Not Too Cam
that cam is def. too big if you really do have 9:1CR. did you get the 76cc heads? just wondering how you ended up w/that low comp. ratio. since you dont have the blower any more, Id install the smallest headgaskets you can get to reclaim some of your compresion back. you could even deck the heads to raise compression. you need something like 226 or 230 or so dura. @.050, not 244/254. my car runs real good w/10.3CR and 236/242 dur. cam.
why did you get rid of the little blower? how much boost did it make? do you still have it? how heavy is it? Ive considered something like that myself. did you have to modify anything else to make it work (besides after market hood)
thanks chris

Im not sure what went wrong with it. I bought it with a 10 rib pulley system & had the stock pulley on it (~5 PSI). I couldnt get the cars timing right, so i finally removed te HEI and it ran a little better. I finally gave up on it b/c ~6 PSI, if it ever even saw that, isnt putting me down 150 Horses like i could be doing on a small shot. Also the blower Is Heavy, Takes both hands, smushed my finger once when laying it onto the intake, hurt like hell, probably 40 lbs or so. I couldnt keep a belt on it for anything. Threw belts daily. Couldnt keep the car cool, even with 3 core radiator, edelbrock aluminum water pump, 2 electric fans, but in Texas summer. The motor was built with 8.3 Comp with 74cc heads b/c i was building it for the blower setup. I now hav 64cc heads so im assuming its around 9:1 comp.. I bought a 4 3/4" cowl hood and i still couldnt fit my air filter on it. I sold it to a guy i knew for 800 bucks, polished also.
I wouldnt recommend one.
