I can hardly make any sense of what you just said, but venting your bypass to atmosphere vs recirculating it will yield in lower air temps.

What KS91Z28 said is true but if you vent to ATM after the MAF then you are venting metered air. The computer thinks this air is entering the engine and adjusts for fuel accordingly. However the air is being purged rather than being recirculated. If you want to vent to ATM then do so before it is metered...So you would have to relocate the MAF.

I currently vent to atmosphere and I hate it

Too loud and blows dust everywhere including the engine bay etc

I'll be recirculaing it back in just to keep it quiet

Venting to atmosphere will definitely keep the air temps lower as the constant fresh air keeps the inlet tract cooler. The only problems are noise (if this happens to bother you) and also the fact that your car is now a street vacuum. The charger will now flow a ton of air continuously through the air filter requiring very frequent cleaning.

That's a given, especially with the filter mounted in the splash guard.

the vortech bypass valves are quite a bit cheaper, the race series is 218.00 i think and the mondo is 250.00 i think.

Their RACE by-pass is $400, but the Pro-Flo valve (the one that comes standard in 90% of their kits) is only about $150.

You can get the ATI race bpv cheaper than 400. Still not as cheap as the mondo but still. Only thing that sucks about the ati is it's only in red.

How much can that mondo bypass support anyways?

The Mondo valve is suppose to be mandatory for anything over 10psi... that thing is huge! The opening on the mondo valve is as big as the volute on the Vortech... which is around 3 inches! I think there is a picture floating around somewhere.
