Re: what carrier do i have with 2.73 lsd rear?
3.73's are what you would want with the A4. They will make a huge difference in power. As for the gears you may very well have 2.73's now, according to my calculations at that speed and RPM you could be right. I would def find a way to check before ordering..thats the best way to make sure that you will be ordering the right part.
Re: what carrier do i have with 2.73 lsd rear?
Get 3.73's, you'll be very happy with them, but your RPM will go up and your MPH will be off by a few. You should order the 3 series 3.73 gears with a spacer to put between the gear and posi flange. Or if you can find one, a 3.73, 2 series made gear. That way you don't need a spacer.

well i went and jacked the rear wheels up and marked the driveshaft and a spot on the wheels and i turned them and i couldnt get the drive shaft around 3 times before the wheel got around. that is why i figured it had 2.73. so yall think 4.10s will be to much i kinda want the best all around and the most improvement on power feel. i found a set of 3.73s for 2 series carrier in jegs. it is a richmond gear.
thanks for yalls help.

yeah mariking the driveshaft is a good way to tell... I also have a calculator in my sig that can help both figure out what gears you have and tell you what speed vs gear you will have with the change...
What other mods have you done? where is your peak TQ and HP? what is your estimated trap speed... There are a lot of things that go into finding the optimal setup. But for a non race only car, the consensus is getting 3.73's with and A4... Also if you get the 4.10's you can step up the tire size to bring the overal ration down and get more MPH, but like I said you have to figure out your combination...
