Looks OK for the target market.
To be honest, if that drove past me, I wouldn't even notice anythign different about it except for the rear end...

Looks like a slight refresh on the current car to me.
Usually when a new Accord comes out, it is a total redesign...
'98-'01
'02-'05
I guess the car is due based on its normal 4 year span, but that car looks much like the current one (too bad, since the '98-'01 looked better). Why has it not been shown on the show circuit yet? You would almost expect it to be an '07...

Read the Washington post article thread in this forum "Dull at any speed", Honda and Toyota's quality must not be an illusion if GM spent millions to dismantle their competitors cars for research.

Sorry guys. Not trying to start a flame war, and I know this isn't the place to speak kindly of anything other than something from the General.
My wife's had two Accords in the last 20 years and they've been impecible.
I've been a die-hard Chevy guy since 1976, but I'm a little more than pissed off about the last GM product I bought and the way the dealer's treated me, so I might be less than kind to GM right now.
I wouldn't mind if my wife's next car was a G6 or other sporty GM product, as long as I can rely on it.

I could swear that article was discussed in a different thread this week...

98-02 (5 years) was the previous generation, with a slight but barely noticable refresh inbetween.
This generation started in 03 and should probably go into the 2007 model year... 5 years as well, with the brand new redesign coming for the 2008 model year.
So this is just a slight refresh approximately 2 years prior to a ground-up redesign. To be honest it hardly looks any different to me except for the rear end has a bit more of a defined character than before.
FWIW there will be an all-new Camry coming out within this year, I think as a 2006? It will have in the 260-280 horsepower range with a version of the all-new motor currently being used in the Avalon, GS300, 4Runner, etc.

I would go so far as to suggest that it is not all that unlikely that EVERY auto manufacturer owns at least one copy of every one of their competitors vehicle...
And, ya, benchmarking your compition is astandard procedure in the manufacturing world.......
