Does anyone know of a site where it explains and shows you how to tune a carb? I just got a 73 Z28 and this is my first carbed car. I don't know anything about it. I don't even know for sure if it is a 4 barrel or not. It is a holly and it has 4 bowls so I assume it is a 4 barrel. The car just isn't running right and I would like to play around with the tunning but don't know how to adjust a carb. Any help would be great. Thanks

You'll probably need to rebuild it. The first step is to identify the carb; got a digital camera?

At the front of the air horn will be stamped the list #, e.g. 1850-3. That will tell you exactly which holley you have.

There is a book on Holleys published by HP books. Bought one years ago. Explains them completely from how carbs work, how to rebuild, tune, etc. Very good investment.

Go to the Holley and Edelbrock sites. They have some good info for beginners that will help you along. Tuning a carb is more of an art form than reading in a book. You can get some good back ground, enough to get the engine running. But tuning and trouble shooting requires a full knowledge of each working part and why it is there.
