Union rank and file are generally some of the most skilled, productive people in the production chain in my experience.
Unfortunatly, big unions such as the UAW have quite a few deskwarmers, who have good intentions, but a little less than the required dose of reality.
UAW has deskwarmers... GM has deskwarmers... I think we need to shove them all on a nice long boat trip to Tokyo, and let them all go work for Toyota... ;)
