Angry wow, I never knew blowers sucked so bad

Was researching on S/C kits for my car and found this website......

http://www.turbochargedpower.com/Tur...%20Blowers.htm

I love how they focus only on a superchargers faults and don't say anything about a turbo's MANY faults.

I take it you never saw the challenge PTK put out to all the supercharger manufacturers? Also, ever check the rules for NHRA? They limit engine displacement as well as the size of the turbos.

Re: wow, I never knew blowers sucked so bad

Most of it is true except that they don't take power to drive, sure they do, they restrict exhaust flow If they didn't then why is it that upgradig from stock manifolds to long tube headers on a turbo car makes no difference?

But I think Turbos are better in all the ways they mentioned blowers blow but are more fun to drive then a turbo car if you mainly drive around at low RPM and want that part throttle response/power.

I find this link to be more informative and less biased. It shows more of the turbos faults. http://superchargersonline.com/content.asp?ID=19

Why would you want to go with a blower? According to the thread starter, he never knew blowers sucked so bad

Re: wow, I never knew blowers sucked so bad

Both of those documents are obviously biased....

Turbo kits ARE more expensive, cost is a factor, as is ease of install, and espicially - the ease of tuning (which depends on the car to some degree as well).

Reliability? Temperatures? Both are just as reliable when done properly, and both generate similar temps. Comon.... Saying otherwise is just crap.

Both have pros and cons, and reading the roots vs supercharger vs turbocharger article (from hot rod was it?) explains those differences very well. They're all very similar in the end, and have different feelings.

If both cars have traction, the supercharger was equated to god pushing the car faster and faster and faster. The turbocharger was equated to god smacking the car really hard and then letting it go. I love the supercharger whine (and feeling), but to me, nothing beats hitting the turbo's spool point, hearing it spin up and the car just stabbing forward.

I love turbo whine and a BOV.... but I gotta say, supercharger whine is much better (aside from the fact that it can be usually heard at idle).
