Anyone ever go to ESTA Safety Park Dragstrip in Cicero NY?

Just recently moved to central new york (Cortland), and found out that the ESTA Dragstick is only about 45mins away.

Anyone go there often or ever been there? Just curious how good the track is.

Also is there any F-Body clubs in central New York? Or car clubs period i guess lol.

I'm fairly new to NY also. Never been to ESTA and I can't seem to find too many people with F-bodies around. I need some drag radials or ET streets pretty bad right now but if ya ever roll down to ESTA let me know I'll meet up.

Hey if you ever wanna let those DRs go I'll take em! I've got a moser 12 bolt so not too worried about the rear, just really need some tires. I really want a set of those M/T ET street radials but the budget is hurting right now.

i live about 15 mon from esta. The nickname for the track is called "The dump" or "The swamp". Its not too bad of a track since its close to me. Track prep isnt all the great in the beggining of the season, but gets better as the year goes on. They have boards at the end of the track for times/mph and have made a left hand return lane. Id say your best bet is to come for a test-n-tune on a saterday. It is expensive at 25 to get in and race though. As for me, 200 miles on my new motor, and something gaveway. I think it was my break in process Oh well, back to square one.

Yea, ESTA isnt the best track to run at. but if you are looking for some fun, or just want to run the car, its not to bad, if you dont mind shelling out $25+ for a test-n-tune.

ran there last year on stock clutch and rear, so i wasnt hard on the launch and still spun pretty bad. was pulling alot of 2.2s for my 60' and only a best of 2.1. personally its a waste of time and money! But its close and convienent! if you want to hit a track, ur best bet would to hit NYIRP, which is about 25-30 south of rochester! pretty sweet track!

i plan on cruising up on friday june 3 with a few other Fbodies! im dying to run 11's! just afraid of the stock clutch and rear end breaking! Oh well, should be fun...anyone is welcome to join along!

Doug, what happened to the hawk/hunk now? i think its time for a LS1!!!

Yeah, havent been to ESTA but I have heard its not a very nice track. I will be heading up there sometime soon tho, for my first quarter mile pass. Right now I run at Skyview dragstrip in Owego, NY. Its an 1/8 mile track but is pretty nice. Once we get all the bugs worked out I will head up to Cicero, some f-bods should meet up some time for Test and tune up there.
