Question Gas Smell

Is it normal for my car to often have a gassy smell coming from what seems to be under the hood after it's been driven for a while? It can especially be smelled when I park and sometimes when I'm stopped at a light (my windows are always down). I actually like the smell, personally. But should I be worried, or is it fairly normal?

Re: Gas Smell

I actually have a leak somewhere under the intake manifold or in some broken gasket, but it's oil, so I'm not sure where the gas smell comes from.

Re: Gas Smell

How often is your oil changed?? After 5-6k miles your oil will start to smell kinda gassy. Wonderful for gettin that pesky fire started while camping at the lake...not that Id ever do that. If you know you have a leaky gasket, get it fixed and you might accidently fix whatever could be leaking if it isnt the gasket. Just a thought.
