So how often do you guys clean your engines? What kinda stuff do you do? And how about the products the work best?

I usually just wipe everything down with Amor All or WD-40, and all the metal objects get some Mother's bilet polish.

Mine's not very clean - just took it out for the summer and found out a mouse had made it's home on the intake manifold. There was yellow house insulation, mouse crap and piss all over it.

When I started it up a mouse ran out from the wheel well - my brother in law booted it.

Years ago, when i was a detailist, we would spray the motor with a degreaser or like chemical, then power wash it from almost ever angle possible to get all the debris and crap off it. Then the tricky part, yeah right, spray the crap out of it with a water based solvent...ie armor all. Close the hood and let dry as you clean the rest of the car then go back after all the water dries and wipe the motor and plastic pieces down and voila. But, I just read that the opti behind the water pump can get wet and foul up pretty bad if it gets sprayed...just how we used to do it.

i dfo as said above but usually i spray on some one step tire spray or cd2 engine datailer but i havent in a while because i am going to glue something to my rail covers so i dont want them to have any silicon on them

I detailed my engine every time I washed it from the beginning so I never had to use any degreasing agents. Now that it is not a daily driver, the job is easier. Mother's billet polish, windex, and armorall are my weapons of choice. :)

I'd spruce it up a bit if I were you - it's too stock looking.

Is that a V6?:p

Mine too. Power steering pump res. leaks and the water pump went out and sprayed all over. Plus a few small oil leaks.
