There's sketches of hoods and a piece of a dashboard on C&G. To me, that's like trying to reconstruct a new dinosaur with only a toebone. We need more than that if we're going to comment on things besides how the plastic looks.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't see anything to get all heated about.

It's drawings of the hoods in shipping containers and a picture of the stereo that will likely end up in other vehicles in the future.

Yeah, if the GM Secret Service shows up at somebody's house over this one I know where to make a few trimmings in the human resources budget... and then they can use the money to hire engineers.

When do we suspect the first GT900 trucks will come out? What about the Tahoe? A year later or so?

I wonder if the base engine will continue to be the 4.3L V6, or if they will move to the I6 or maybe I5? Or will they go to V8-only this time?

SUV's will be first out, followed by the trucks within a year. We should see the trucks sometime in the fall I am thinking.

Fall of what? 2006, 2007??

So you're not sure about the motor? Any rumors or reasonable guesses?

A lot of manufacturers seem to be going to V8-only setups. The ones that aren't are at least upgrading their V6s to be quite a bit more powerful.

190-200hp just doesn't cut it anymore from a 1/2-ton truck.

WOW that is quick. Will we see the Tahoe at the Frankfort show? What other show, should be in NA, would be in the Fall?

Wait wasn't the LA show moved up this year?

Edit to add a picture of a coloring I did of the GMC hood.

Any time table for Avalanche?

Also, will Yukon and Escalade launch with Tahoe, or will they be staggered?

I can't comment on the outside, since they are HEAVILY camoflauged, but the interiors on these trucks are great. Nicer, in my opinion, than any truck currently on the market (including the F150, which for some reason has achieved mythical status in some eyes). The Titan and Ram aren't in the same league (talking interiors here). I'm sure the upcoming new Tundra will have a decent interior though, along with some real power under the hood, though it will also be fugly (imo) if it looks anything like the recent concept, or the new Tacoma...

Joe can you comment on the interiors we can see. It looks like the one shown is the premium by the file name. I would bet this is the one for Caddy and GMC. I would expect Hummer to get an evolution of their current one. Also the guages posted have you seen that particular one in any designation, ie Chevy or GMC?

I also got a quick look at the interior of a Suburban and Tahoe after I dropped off an H3 . It does look much nicer but I cant really remember many details. These were the high end ones with leather and all - more Escalade like quality Id say.

I just wanted to give my opinion in general, that what I've seen of the interiors (a couple of Escalades, and a couple of non-Escalades, though with camo I don't know if they were Tahoes, Yukons, or both) looks really promising.

Not trying to be difficult; I just don't feel comfortable giving away specific details like that, especially on such a key vehicle as the GMT900s. :)

Just a couple questions "in general"... if you can't answer, I understand.

1) Is the Escalade interior significantly different from Tahoe and/or Yukon, rather than a virtual twin of them like the current generation?

2) In the "non-Escalade" vehicles you saw, do they not put the bowtie or GMC logo on the steering wheels and/or dash at the point where you saw them?

I know for sure one vehicle I climbed into was a Yukon, since I could make out the "GMC" logo under a piece of black tape. I haven't paid much attention to that in each one I've seen, though.

Thanks for the info! :)

Sounds great. I think the different interior/dash is a very smart move for Cadillac to seperate it a bit more... :thumb:

Extremly smart move, I can wait to see the new trucks. The current Escalade came out in early 2001 as a 2002. I'm glad that it is getting a refreash so often. Caddy's need a 5 year life span to keep them fresh, exciting, and competative.
