if its an 88 chances are it was a TPI and if it was changed to a carb,it probably has an aftermarket intake w/o EGR passages so it most likely wont pass emissions.

Is this personally speaking or just a guess. I think the car has cats on it also.

If they have a visual inspection in CT you are going to fail......it could have an egr with a carb, but more than likely not......ask the owner of the car now...or you can call an inspection station(not the one you would go to) and ask about it......good luck,Mike

the only visual inspection is to check for cats and it has them. So my only concern would be to pass the sniffer test. The car is at a small used car lot so i dont know the original owner.

you know i doubt anybody could really answer this question..theres just so many variables, you have to make sure the cat/cats are workin properly, and nobody knows how good the engine is running and all of that...i would say if the cat/cats are workin perfect and the engine is very healthy, i would say you have a chance, but like i said, i don't knwo how strict they are on these tests, seeing i never had to do one....i would say theres a possibilty you could pass it, but i can't say yes or no...
