I had the same problem but it didn't start happening until was in the teens for boost, so I welded up a hard tube. If your using the supplied orange hose with the wire inside it may be stretched out to much and not enough wire to support it.

Go there, You can find everything you need for a hard tube intake. I would think that the only other possiblity is that the filter is too dirty.

Hard tubing is always a good idea but at your boost level My advice would be to take some measuments and install the biggest damn filter you can possible fit on that thing.

That orange dryer hose SUCKS (no pun). I kept replacing pieces of it until eventually I had a complete hard intake.

Yep, go hard intake and don't look back. Good investment.

Re: intake hose colapses under wot on ati w/ twin i/cooler

I found a great tubing here that is much stronger than the original dryer vent tubing but is still flexible enough to make the curve. The reinforcing wire is closer together and the material is much tougher. It is called Sil-Tech exhaust tubing (not sure if the spelling is right). I bought it at Chattanooga Rubber and Gasket Co. It is about $10/ft but that is still much less than having to fab up a hard intake. In the interest of helping out and sharing a good thing, I've got a couple of small pieces left over that I would be willing to send to a couple of you guys to look at to see if you agree with me. I seriously doubt that you will collapse this tubing. Just shoot me an e-mail and put "intake tubing" in the subject line.
