Are these a/c vents on apillar?

I am doing a ttop conversion and my car (97z) happens to have some vents on my a pillars and the new apillars i got dont have them. Behind the vents are black tubes and i was wondering what they were for? Im guessing i got an older model year. Can i just cut these tubes off, I don't use my a/c at all. Do you think with that aside(cut off), will the apillars fit flush or not?

I think you're talking about the small defrosters for the windows in the door. They defrost the glass so you can see your rear view mirrors.

The defroster vents were not used on earlier model Camaros. They were added in 96 or 97.

Same reason your mirrors have heaters on them and your t-tops dont..... No need for defrost vents for your t-tops. You dont need your t-tops to change lanes or back do therefore if theyre foggy it doesnt matter.

No i mean, my ttop apillar doesnt fit with this thing here. Does anyone know if the dash itself is the exact same shape between 97/96 and earlier? I Think i am going to either shave these down a little big and cut some vents into my apillar or something like that but.. I am a little worried that i might cut them and the a pillar trim wont fit flush. The reason i am asking is that the dash is flat instead of round where those two defoggers are.

Sounds to me like you got older pillars; in '97 they started using the new dash. You may need to get some pillars out of a newer car.

I agree. Sounds like your pillars are for the 93-96 camaros man.
