Shifts with no clutch pedal depression?

I have done some searching and found lots of folks with Spec clutches have high pedal engagement. It is very annoying but after about 1000 miles on my spec 4 setup, it hasn't slipped and am I getting ready to dyno it today with alot of nitrous. So I will see if it slips or not.

My question has to do with shifting without using the clutch. After I take off from a stop in first, I don't have to touch the clutch pedal again in order to shift through the gears. I can even downshift from say 6th to 5th if a rev it a bit.

In other words my T56 is acting just like a big rig diesel does.

Are any of you able to do this. I am not sure if it is a problem because my mustang was able to do the same thing. I have a CDL license, and have driven big rigs for a while, so everytime I get in a vehicle that has a manual tranny I check to see if I can shift without the clutch.

Is this normal?

I think its normal to beable to "feel" your way into gears without the clutch if your careful.

Let us know how the clutch holds up to alot of HP.

The trannies have synchros, so yeah, you can shift without clutching. I've shifted our '73 that way, and even my old '96 Sunfire 5-speed!!

It's normal way for me to shift if I'm just cruising around, I rarely use the clutch.... screwing around, well, that's a whole nother story.

Just my opinion on that spec clutch.. your not going to get it to slip.. I have the same clutch in my car.. Doesnt last very long but its very very strong. Next clutch im getting though is a mcloud.. They seem to have alot longer life.

better use a light touch or you'll smoke those synchros, they're not really made for this

Just so you guys know, the clutch held. But the passenger head gasket didn't. I sprayed a 200+ shot on top of 400rwhp NA.
