Yea that trailblazer is going to be sweet, but did you take a look at the other 06 vehicles on there?? I clicked on the HHR to see what that was and I think that dropped GM a few notches...

The Malibu SS looks gay, the HHR is a 4 banger, and the Impala's V8 is probably driving the front wheels.

I retract the statement given in the title of this post.

I saw it at the auto show yesterday, 390Hp and available AWD, sounds like a nice performance SUV.
I bet it's faster then the Jeep Hemi, can hang with the Cayenne?

(not directed at your comment, Chrisz24)

Have any of you even SEEN an HHR? It is a fwd compact wagon, sort of like the PT Cruiser (but slightly longer), based on the 'delta' platform (new Cobalt). What would you expect it to have, an LS7? It is fwd, with a 145 hp Ecotec standard, and a 170+ hp ecotec optional. Just for the first year (probably more to come). Remember, the PT had one single engine (2.4L 150hp 4 cyl) for a year or two before the turbo versions came out (in low output ~180 hp and high output ~220 hp form).

The current Impala sells very well, and this updated one is way, way nicer. Wait until you see one in person. It is still fwd because it is an update (a very thorough one) of the current car, and because despite the illusion created by the ugly LX cars from Chrysler, fwd still sells. If there is any doubt on this point, please examine the Accord, Camry, Maxima, 6, Altima, Passat, Taurus, 500, Stratus, Sebring, Grand Prix, G6, etc.

I don't even know why I replied to this, since these topics have already been discussed at length in the 5th Gen/Future Vehicle forum (you guys should check it out for info like this). As for the topic of the original post, the Trailblazer SS, I've driven one, and it is indeed a badass SUV.

Re: GM going to do something right for a change?

trailblazers are probably the most cramped SUVs on the market. What is it with GM and making powerful crap cars?

Case in point:
SS Impala
SS Cobalt
SS Monte Carlo

and now this. It makes absolutely no sense to have 4+ models that come from the factory with superchargers and not have a RWD or dedicated sport model. (Corvette does not count)

Sorry, never seen the HHR in person. It looks bigger in pictures

The difference with the Impala with a V8 and all the other sedans you listed, is the Impala indeed has a V8. There is a point that FWD does not handle hp and tq all too well when you pass 300 hp. Ever driven a Northstar caddy?

Sorry about posting this in the Lounge.

This will be available in 2wd as well. I don't have any problem with it. I am not surprised most of you guys don't though, seems every car that comes out just isn't good enough. Everybody said if GM made a RWD coupe they would all buy one, along came the GTO and no one liked it.

Trailblazers are pieces of crap, but that one looks like it should be pretty quick.
