95 z28 auto is rearend gear diff then a t56?

i wanna unload my auto 4l60e and install a t56, is my rearend gear different?

i also have my rearend in my v6, what gear ratio is in this? if its the same as the t56 can i use it with the limited slip rearend?

in case u didnt figure out im doing a v8 swap in my 1994 v6, i bought a 95 auto z28 and and gonna swap it all in except i'm losing the auto for a t56.

six speed cars have 3.42 gears.
Auto had either 2.73 or 3.23 depending on if the car was optioned with the performance rear.
Not sure about the V6 cars, I am fairly certain my v6 firebird has 2.73s but don,t quote me on that.
You can use the T56 with any rear gear ratio but you will get better results with at least the 3.42.

Some of the V6 cars got 3.08's, but I can't remember if it was A4's or M5's? ... I think it was the A4's? I *think* that M5's came with 3.23's. Again, don't quote me on that!!

As far as interchangeability, they'll all swap around, no problem! Just make sure you program your PCM for the ratio you end up with. Like what was just said, you'd want to get at least 3.42's if you're going with the M6. I'd recommend 4.10's anyways!

You have to change the ring and pinion inside the rear.
If you have never done it I would reccomend you have someone who knows what they are doing install the new gears.
One of the PCM tuners on this site can recalibrate for your new gear setup. Hypertech also makes a handheld tuner to change different settings such as rear gear ratio but I reccomend Madwolf or PCMforless do it.
