what size shot if any to use

on a forged 396 LT1 stroker with 6" h-beam rods. I'd like to use a small shot like about 75-100, but I worry the rod length might cause the compression ratio under the spray to get too high. anyone know if I could do this?

A 100-shot will be absorbed with GLEE by that big 396 if you have correct amount of corresponding fuel.

well, I've already picked up the walbro 255 fuel pump and plan to use 42# delphi injectors on a LE3 H/C setup, would a SAFC help control it better?

I'd throw a 150 shot at that bad boy. From other posts you've made the little cam you have in there is not quite big enough but if you put spray on there I GAURANTEE that thing will seriously improve.

right now I believe I have a stock cam, but for the 396 I am going with a full LE3 setup.

Dave, the rod length has NOTHING to do with the compression ratio. However, with a 6" rod in a 396 you're going to have a very short ring stack that will not hold up to a whole lot of nitrous. A 100 shot should be fine, though, in my opinion.

Start off with a 100 shot, then work your way up.

I was actually thinking about starting with 75 to see how it all works out and moving up, after a good break in. I get a bit nervous with N2O, my last car I only ran a 60 shot while others with stock engines were running 75-100.

Dave, you'll be more than safe with a 100 shot. I'm putting 150 on my stock bottom end car this season. I've read about a whole lot of people in this section running 175-200 on their stock LT1s. With a forged piston in that 396 you'll be fine even with the compressed ring stack.

AND I hope to see you at Bandimere this year. I should be up there on April 22nd. Look for the green Formula.

Make sure you have all of the safety devices: fpss, wot switch, window switch, etc.
